Cloud migration for Australian businesses
Ageing servers, expiring hardware support and growing security risk push many organisations to move to the cloud. Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 let you replace on premises servers, file shares and email systems with services that are maintained, backed up and accessible from anywhere.
FAZ Australia plans and delivers migrations for businesses and public sector teams, from a single office file server to entire application environments, with a focus on keeping the business running while systems move.
Choosing the right approach for each system
Not every system should move the same way. Some servers can be moved as they are, some applications benefit from modernising first, and some workloads are better replaced by a Microsoft 365 or software as a service equivalent. We assess each system and recommend the approach that balances cost, risk and long term value.
Our Process
Discover & Assess
Inventory servers, applications, data and dependencies, and assess cloud readiness.
Plan
Choose the right approach for each workload and set a staged migration timeline.
Pilot
Migrate a small set of workloads or users first to prove the approach.
Migrate
Move remaining workloads in planned waves, with testing and rollback options.
Optimise & Support
Tune performance and cost, decommission old systems and support your team.
Cloud Migration questions, answered
Will there be downtime during the migration?
We plan migrations to keep downtime to a minimum, usually by staging the move and scheduling cutovers outside business hours. We agree any expected downtime with you in advance.
How long does a cloud migration take?
A small office file and email migration can take a few weeks. Larger migrations with many servers and applications are planned in waves over several months. We give you a timeline after the assessment.
Can you migrate our old applications?
Usually, yes. We assess each application and recommend whether to move it as it is, modernise it or replace it, depending on cost, risk and how long you plan to keep it.
What happens after we move to the cloud?
We train your team on the new environment, decommission old systems safely and can provide ongoing support and management.
